Boating a beautiful 80kg Yellowfin Tuna
On Monday, May 9th, we went out with our regular clients Beckie and Eric. We departed from Houtbay harbor at 5:30am running a course of 260 into the west. We were in the Tuna grounds at sunrise, looking anxiously for busting Yellowfin.
They went double up with 2 Yellowfin, boating both of them, as husband and wife got to “Tuna Tango” together.
Eric couldn’t get enough and got stuck into the 3rd fish of the day which was a beautiful 80kg fish.
Makings of another great day out.
Boated Skip Jack, Long Fin and Yellowfin Tuna
Roland Turvey and guest went out on a charter, Saturday March 12th and started with a beautiful morning, run out with almost No wind.
On the way to the fishing grounds they got stuck into some Skip Jack and Long Fin Tuna action.
We ended up on the 36’14 with 20.3° blue-blue water.
Started a drift and wasn’t long till they were tight with the first Yellowfin Tuna.
Ended the day with
2 Long Fin Tuna about 10kg
1 Skip Jack Tuna about 2kg
1 Yellowfin Tuna weighing 45kg
A Good day out indeed
Fighting Small Mouth Bass
Daniel Mason went on a Bass Fishing trip with Adam on the 14th December 2021 and caught his first
Small Mouth ever. He was surprised at how hard they fought!
They caught about 20 fish. Biggest was 1.2kg. Average size fish about 700grm.
Daniel’s goal was to learn as much as possible about Bass fishing and he learnt a lot, what types of baits to use for small mouth, how to retrieve paddle tails – they used mostly the Revolution Baits atomic thumper paddle tails, where to fish them during certain times of the day and what structure the fish prefer to be in.
Overall, another successful fishing day with Adam (That Bass Guy)
4 Anglers, boated 8 Yellowfin Tuna
Chris Kotze and friends went to the deep on Saturday, 13th November 2021.
When asked which boat he would like to book for their charter, Chris commented ; “The one that catches the most fish!”
Sure, these guys got what they asked for, catching 8 Yellowfin Tuna between them!
85kg Beast of a Yellowfin
Craig and his two sons joined us for a trip to the deep on Saturday 24 April 2021.
16 Year old Gus with the help of his brother Quinn managed to catch an 85kg Yellowfin.
