Directions to Two Oceans Sports Fishing
There are two routes one can take to get from Cape town’s CBD to Hout Bay depending on your position in town. If you are staying closer to Table Mountain use route one or closer to the Waterfront or Sea Point/Camps Bay use route two.
If you are staying closer to the mountain in the top end of town the quickest route is to go up Buitengracht street in the direction of the mountain. Buitengracht street becomes Kloof Nek road, keep following this up until you get to the top where you would turn left to go to the cable car or right to signal hill. Go straight through into Camps Bay drive, a winding road that will take you all the way down to Victoria road (M6). After the sharp corner to the right where the road rounds back on itself look for Houghton Road to the left this is a short cut route down to Victoria Road. Otherwise you don’t have to turn off and can continue straight down to the traffic lights on the beach front which is Victoria road. You will be facing the sea, turn left into Victoria road and drive straight in the direction of Llundudno and Hout Bay.*
If you are staying in the bottom end of Cape Town closer to the Waterfront then it is quickest to get onto Western Boulevard (M6). Head in the direction of Three Anchor Bay and Sea Point and just continue straight along this road without turning off. You will go through a circle or two. Western Boulevard becomes Beach road. Continue along Beach road until it divides into a single lane, shortly after this is ends and you will then need to turn left into Queens road, a short road going up the hill. Literally 200m or so up you need to turn right into Victoria road (M6). Once on Victoria Road just go straight, it takes you all the way to Hout Bay. You will go through Clifton, then Camps Bay, continue straight in the direction of Llundudno and Hout Bay.*
* From this point on both routes follow the same road through to Hout Bay. The road goes along coastline with the sea on your rhs. You will go past the 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa on the lhs. After you pass Llundudno on the rhs you will go over the Suikerbossie saddle and then down a steep downhill. When you reach the traffic lights continue straight through, the road becomes Victoria Avenue once through the traffic lights. Keep going straight down the hill and through the circles. You will see some shops either side of the road. At the bottom of the hill you will reach a circle close to the beach that only has a left or right option. Enter the circle and continue to the right into Harbour Road.
Driving along Harbour road the sea will be on your lhs. The first buildings on the lhs after the car park will be the Mariners Wharf. Do not turn here, continue straight passing the Mariners Wharf. About 300 to 400m further on turn left into Fish Market street. This is the main entrance into Hout Bay Harbour. As you enter the harbour turn right, after turning look forward and diagonally left across the parking lot and you will see the red Nauticat Seal Island boat and The Lookout Deck Restaurant. The entrance to the walk on moorings and our boats are right next to the entrance to the restaurant.
Directions from the Airport via Kirstenbosch to Hout Bay Harbour.
When you leave the airport you will be on the Airport Approach Road, continue straight and feed into the right when you join onto the N2, one of our main highways. If you are driving towards Table Mountain then you are going in the right direction.
Continue along the N2. Keep an eye out for the Black River, you will first drive next to it on your lhs then you will go over a bridge over the Black River. There are several roads feeding off the N2 in this area just keep going straight. After going over the bridge keep going straight . You will then go over another bridge over a crossroad and then under a bridge with a road crossing the N2 overhead. Shortly after this you need to take the left feed off the N2 into Rhodes drive.
Continue straight along Rhodes drive, you will pass the University of Cape Town on your rhs and continue along until you reach the first set of traffic lights. At these traffic lights turn right into Rhodes Avenue. Rhodes Avenue goes past Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens on the rhs, continue up the hill that bends to the right. At the top turn right into Rhodes Drive (M63), this road will take you past the top gates at Kirstenbosch on the rhs. Continue straight along this scenic route until you reach the circle at the top at Constantia Nek. Go straight through the circle into Hout Bay road and drive straight, further down the hill you will go through the first circle with the informal settlement and police station on the lhs. Keep going straight until you reach the second circle. At this circle turn right into Princess street, go straight until you reach the next circle where you keep left into Harbour road.
Driving along Harbour road the sea will be on your lhs. The first buildings on the lhs after the car park on the lhs will be the Mariners Wharf. Do not turn here, continue straight passing the Mariner Wharf.
