The Tuna are Back
Gerhard and mates joined us for a offhsore tuna mission. We had great weather but the fishing proved very tough. Later on in the afternoon Gerhard hooked into a yellowfin and successfully boated it. It weighed in at 67 kgs, Well Done!
5 October Tail
Marc and friends from the Uk joined us in search of some yellowtail. We again had several schools of common dolphin as well as several brydes whales in the area. The tail really frustrated us as we cast as schools of tail on the surface but they did not want to bite suffering from a well known tail symptom of lock jaw. We did finally manage to trick one into taking the lure and also boated a snoek.
4 October Tail
Ron and mates joined us for an inshore yellowtail charter. We started the day with schools of thousands of common dolphins and seals feasting on some big schools of anchovy. The weather played in our favour with flat seas and no wind, all setting the scene for a great days fishing. The tail bit consistently throughout the morning with a preference for the trolled lures but also taking a couple on the spinner. Much to our surprise we also caught a number of small snoek that were feeding inbetween the tail. All in all a great day out.
